THE RANGE

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING Hirail Trucks

The Rail wheels can be set to either Narrow, Standard or Broad Gauge and are propelled by hydraulic motors installed within the rail system. Excavators are rigorously commissioned and tested so every Hi Rail Machine is Rail Ready when it leaves the workshop.

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING Hirail Track Excavators

Harrybilt Engineering offers a turnkey solution for all Track Excavators, this includes the supply of the excavator, the installation of the Hi Rail System and supporting registration for required networks around Australia so the machine is Rail Ready when it leaves the workshop. The team can also handle the purchase and installation of a Tiltrotator along with Harrybilt Engineering’s own wide range of Rail Maintenance Attachments.

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING Hi Ride System

Harrybilt Engineering have developed the Hi Ride Rail Guidance System as a Standard Gauge set-up, which uses a Friction Drive mode to travel over train stops and some train platforms.

The RGS Hi Ride is AS7502 compliant, braking with integrated disk service brakes and fail-safe tread brakes on the rail wheels. The system is Rail Guidance (direct drive) for superior stability, pulling and stopping performance with a revised load chart and a compliant twist mechanism for each configuration.

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING Hi Rail Dumper

Harrybilt Engineering has developed a Triple Gauge and Dual Gauge Rail System designed specifically for the Wacker Neuson DV90 base machine.

The Friction Drive System converts wheeled dumpers for rail applications, enabling seamless operation on both road and rail networks.

Retractable rail wheel assemblies installed on the dumper positioning the vehicle on the rail, allowing the rear tyres continue to provide traction and braking, whilst providing train stop clearance. The rear end has a mechanical twist mechanism to suit the rail regulator’s requirements. All four rail wheels are fitted with park brakes to prevent “runaways”, as well as service brakes to make the unit more agile & productive.

All controls will be operated from the driver’s cabin. All hydraulic components are matched to the dumper’s specifications for flow rate, operating pressure and temperature.

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING RAIL DOG

The Rail Dog is a rolling rail anchor designed for railway bridge maintenance and elevated rail work. Available in two sizes to suit both standard and smaller rail profiles. Mounted directly to the rail head, the Rail Dog provides a mobile fall-arrest anchor that travels along the rail as the user moves, allowing continuous protection while working along the track.

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING OCTOPUS

The ‘Octopus’ Concrete Sleeper Handler range has been designed to simplify and speed up the safe laying of concrete sleepers for rail and tram networks. First designed in 2003 to meet a niche market it has proved itself as a reliable performer and has contributed to many hundreds of kilometres of new rail track.

The Octopus 4 Concrete Sleeper Handler can be used with a minimum 12 ton excavator. Note: Maximum Drop Centres for this Octopus are 700mm.

The Octopus 6 is able to lift and lay 6 sleepers  it suits the mid range size of excavators above 16 ton. It is recommended that this attachment be used with a Tilt Rotating Head (or equivalent) for maximum efficiency and manoeuvrability

The Octopus 8 attachment can lift and lay 8 sleepers at a time your choice of this specialist piece of equipment is an investment in the most cost effective method of laying high volumes of concrete sleepers accurately while minimising manual handling inputs.

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING SLEEPER RAIL TRAILER

Harrybilt Engineering will manufacture rail trailers to specific customer requirements, we also manufacture a standard range of trailers including flat and sleeper deck, 3m and 4m in length.

  • Rail Block includes 1 x 12 ton Bow Shackle
  • Maximum Working Load Limit (WLL): 12 tonne

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING RAIL THREADER

Developed by Harrybilt Engineering, this piece of equipment has been specifically designed to provide an efficient method of handling rail. First designed in 2007 to meet a niche market, it has proved itself as a reliable performer and has contributed to the laying and maintenance of many hundreds of kilometres of rail track.

The grab will grip under the head of the rail for lift. The hardened point allows the threader to slide under rail, even through ballast and the vertical and horizontal rollers provide low resistance support so the threader can slide along the rail providing lift of the rail on or off the sleeper.
This reduces manual handling and the O H & S issues related to moving heavy rail.

It is recommended that the Rail Threader be used with a Rotating head fitted to the excavator.

HARRYBILT ENGINEERING FORK GRAB

The Fork/Grab has been designed to facilitate the safe and efficient handling of packs of sleepers, but also provides the option to pick up and position single sleepers as required.
The Fork/Grab attachment is particularly suitable for use on 8 to 16 ton excavators.

Note: It is recommended that the fork/ Grab attachment be used with a maximum 16-17 ton excavator fitted with over-centre lockout valves on all boom cylinders and coupled to a rotating head attachment.
